This project covers fundamental questions about the role of the media, how information is made available and what this information really is. It is designed to raise awareness of how the media works.

Activity 1 - Taking Sides

This activity focuses on the topic of “media bias”. Just how does the media shape our opinions and values? Is it even possible to make a news report or a documentary without some kind of bias? How do we sort fact from opinion in media presentations?

Activity 2 - Photojournalists

This activity looks at how the same photo image can be used to send different messages, depending on how it is placed in an article or how it is altered. This plays an important part in how the media’s role influences public opinion.
